With support from Heritage BC, this website was designed by the Vancouver Artists Labour Union Co-Operative (VALU CO-OP) | 溫哥華藝文工會合作社, who are members of the Arts and Cultural Workers Union (ACWU), IATSE B-778.

This project grew out of a collaboration between VALU CO-OP and the Lim Sai Hor Kow Mock Benevolent Association, which included an archive digitization initiative, the website construction, as well as a series of oral history recordings with Lim Sai Hor Kow Mock Benevolent Association members.

VALU CO-OP operates out of a ground floor studio at 525 Carrall St. in the Lim Sai Hor Kow Mock Benevolent Association 林西河總堂九牧公所 building. This historic building, originally erected in 1903 by the Chinese Empire Reform Association, has since been a central hub for supporting Chinese-Canadian labourers, and serving the Chinatown Community.

VALU CO-OP moved into the studio in January 2020 at the invitation of the Lim Association, and it has become the central place where our members work, meet, and develop new community projects. The Chinatown Studio is also the location of the Arts and Cultural Workers Union (ACWU) Hall.
